We are looking for those unusual individuals who have experience or interest in gardening AND who desire a wholesome lifestyle of physical work, community involvement and personal inner development. If you say YES! Join 40 or so like-minded people from around the world at Odiyan Retreat Center. Live on 1,000 breathtakingly beautiful acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Northern CA. Odiyan is a long-standing all-volunteer Retreat Center guided by Buddhist teachings. Our community treats work as a practice in awareness, concentration, and energy: a kind of ‘meditation in action'.
Living at Odiyan includes:
Housing - share a comfortable room with outdoor deck with one roommate.
Vegetarian meals - share or learn cooking skills in the large community kitchen.
Classes/discussion groups- study and reflection based on work and daily life as a catalyst for inner development
Monthly living allowance - $120 per month.
Working at Odiyan includes but is not limited to: Organic vegetable gardening, Ornamental flower gardening, Landscaping, Construction, Vegetarian cooking.
Participation at Odiyan is a wholesome and active lifestyle engaging body, mind and spirit in a healthy setting of nature, wide open spaces, sacred beauty, fresh air, clean water, nutritious food. Please be strong, healthy and able to engage manual work.

We are seeking applicants who can start in this spring and summer 2013. (March through August)
No religious affiliation is required to live and work at Odiyan. Please be able to engage manual work on a daily basis. The minimum age is 23 years old. We cannot accept pets. Couples are welcome to apply. The minimum commitment is six months, with possibility of longer-term community membership.
