Farm Manager at Natural Bridges Farm/Homeless Garden Project

HGP seeks an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager. We are looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing and organized person skilled in sustainable agriculture, production, marketing, business management and building partnerships. The ideal candidate will also have a sincere commitment to ending homelessness and have experience working with individuals facing homelessness and/or mental health challenges. The Farm Manager will work to create and maintain an economically robust farm with exemplary sustainable agriculture practices.

The Homeless Garden Project (HGP) is a nonprofit corporation based in Santa Cruz, CA that provides job training and transitional employment to people who are homeless. In addition, HGP has a vibrant community volunteer and education program. The training, employment, education and volunteer programs take place in an organic farm and related enterprises. Products produced in the training program are sold through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, at our onsite Farm Stand, at our year-round retail store, through our online store, and wholesale to other retailers. Production provides for a real work environment and is also a meaningful source of revenue for the Project.

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Natural Bridges Farm (NBF) Manager oversees all aspects of the farm program, including production of agriculture crops, CSA, crops used in the production of value-added products, marketing, greenhouse management, and the farm business planning and management.

Hours: 40 hours/week, occasional weekends, holidays and evenings

Salary: $30,465 -$33,114 annually commensurate with qualifications and experience
