The E-commerce Manager will be responsible for all aspects of ecommerce business for TreatsforChickens.com as well as third party vendors to include business planning, web/newsletter content strategy and development, website design/edits/updates, customer experience, web analytics and web technologies. Involved in both the strategy and the execution, you are a leader who is a big picture thinker and a hands-on-manager/coach to those you interface with. You require results, are Type-A and are committed to flawless execution.
In this position you will be working with the Founder/Owner and the Office Manager. Due to the boutique nature of our organization you are willing to wear many hats and thrive in an environment that works hard and plays hard.
Key Responsibilities:
Address E-Commerce from end-to-end to drive customer acquisition, conversion, and sales on TreatsforChickens.com and third-party marketplaces to include Amazon, Hayneedle and Jet.com
Develops annual, monthly E-Commerce forecast and budget, including traffic, sales, conversion and AOV. Provides weekly reporting and insight into Ecommerce performance
Creating and identify strategies for long and short-term growth opportunities. Accomplish online sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating new opportunities, advertising, merchandising, and promotion programs
Heavy involvement in site merchandising by building and consistently improving TreatsforChickens.com to optimize brand & product placement and performance on site
Use market research and site data to understand customer needs, identify new opportunities, and identify evolving business requirements
Oversees email marketing programs, seasonal schedule, briefing process, and performance reporting for weekly, transactional, and triggered emails and newsletters. Drives strategy for e-mail testing to increase consumer engagement
Plan, execute and measure various tests (A/B, multivariate) to drive conversion, etc.
Work collaboratively with the Founder/Owner to carryout vision and Ecommerce growth while continuing to evolve and improve brand
Act as business partner with various other internal groups in supporting strategies and initiatives designed to enhance our overall web presence, define our market position, maximize our loyalty programs, and leverage our Ecommerce solutions
Other duties for this role will be assigned as necessary/appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiently perform duties listed in Key Responsibilities
- Proficiency in general office functions, equipment and procedure
- Problem solving skills – as we scale up the business, we need energetic, positive, solution-based thinkers to implement changes to help grow the company
- Documented Ecommerce management required
- Experience driving traffic, conversion, sales on an ecommerce platform
- Experience planning and implementing third-party site strategy
- Understanding of Google Analytics tools, experience building and executing an Ecommerce strategy
- Data-driven; clear understanding of retail and marketing metrics
- Thorough understanding of retail fundamentals – merchandising, sales, customer service, production, operations/fulfillment, margins, P+L, etc.
- Deep knowledge of SEO/SEM, organic keyword optimization, outbound linking, database marketing, social media, etc.
Treats for Chickens is a boutique manufacturing company based in Cotati, CA., shipping products to distributors, retailers and direct customers across the United States. We provide certified organic products that are pesticide-free and made with Non-GMO ingredients. The core of our products is Certified Organic by CCOF and our small but mighty workforce believes in Health and Happiness for the Modern Backyard Chicken.
This is a 32-40 hour per week position, M-F. Flexible hours. Wage is contingent on skillset, experience and knowledge.
